First grade inventions to help a person climbing a mountain. They planned and designed their invention using biomimicry: studying an animal adaptation and designing an invention based on it. Students invented sticky gloves like the suction cups of a starfish, sticky shoes like the special feet of a gecko, unique ropes and hooks like a monkey tail, and special parachutes or wings like a maple seed.
