Hello, my name is Jeff Skelton,
This is my 25th year as an educator with Nye County School District. My career represents my love for personal and professional growth. I started my career teaching in Lame Deer, Montana where I taught 6th through 8th grade students. I have worn several hats during my years in Pahrump including Pod Leader. Math Department Chair, Football, Basketball and Track Coach, Athletic Director, Mentor to new teachers, Assistant Principal and Principal at Rosemary Clarke Middle School and Principal at J.G. Johnson Elementary. It has been a great privilege to work with so many awesome teachers, students and parents.
Just in the short period of time that I have been here at Floyd Elementary School, I can already say that the students, teachers and parents here are absolutely amazing. The staff is so helpful and passionate about what they are doing. The students have huge smiles on their faces, love to learn and are excited about every new thing. This is my first year at Floyd Elementary and I am already thankful for so many reasons. I want to thank all the parents, students and staff members for making me feel so welcome.
So, what type of person am I? When I have a few spare seconds, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to shows, traveling, reading, and I love spending time outside hiking, biking, camping, playing golf, swimming and just relaxing by the pool. I'd rather smile than sweat the small things in life. Every morning I thank God for another day to appreciate all the great things in my life, and deal with hurdles life puts in front of me one at a time.
I am passionate about my commitment to education and the well being of your child. I believe that if we all work together that this year will be very successful for your child. Please feel free to contact me or my staff if you have any questions, concerns or ideas! I encourage parents and teachers to have constant communication, share ideas and help each other help those that count ....... the children.
